Vaccination procedure: The vaccination procedure for rabies vaccine is usually five or four shots. The five-shot method requires one dose on day 0, day 3, day 7, day 14, and day 28 after injury. The four-shot rule is two shots on day 0 (one in each arm), followed by one on day 7 and one on day 21. After the full vaccination is completed, the body can produce enough antibodies to prevent rabies.
