Vaccination before exposure

People who have long-term contact with animals: such as animal management personnel, doctors, virus researchers, livestock personnel, slaughter personnel, etc., because they have long-term contact with animals, they are easy to be bitten or scratched by animals, so it is recommended to carry out preventive vaccination, that is, vaccination against rabies before exposure.

People in areas with a high incidence of rabies: In areas with a high incidence of rabies, even if you have not been bitten or scratched by an animal, vaccination is recommended to be on the safe side.

Vaccination precautions

Time of inoculation: The time of inoculation of rabies vaccine is very important for the preventive effect. If it is post-exposure vaccination, it should be administered as soon as possible within 24 hours of injury, or within 48 hours if it is not administered in time on the first day. Pre-exposure vaccination is carried out according to the vaccination schedule.

Number of shots: Post-exposure vaccination usually requires five shots of the vaccine at days 0, 3, 7, 14, and 30. Pre-exposure vaccination may require three doses of the vaccine, and the specific number and interval of vaccination should be recommended by the local epidemic prevention authority.

Wound management: Along with vaccination, the wound needs to be thoroughly washed and disinfected to reduce the risk of infection.
