Rabies Vaccine In Infants

What we need to understand is that rabies is currently the only infectious disease with a mortality rate close to 100%, so until today there is no effective treatment, but vaccines can be used to effectively prevent rabies. In addition, due to the continuous improvement of the current vaccine technology, their side effects are getting less and less, so after the injection of Rabies Vaccine, there are only mild symptoms such as low fever, tiredness, and fatigue. Most children do not even feel these mild symptoms. Therefore, in general, after the rabies vaccination, the side effects are not obvious. Individual children may experience systemic symptoms such as fever and muscle aches due to individual differences, in addition, redness, swelling, induration, and pain may occur at the site of the vaccine injection.

There are no contraindications to PEP; it can be safely given to infants, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals. Life-saving PEP should not be withheld from these individuals.
